Interior Design Trends We’ll See More of In 2024

We are almost halfway through 2024, and so far, we’ve seen which trends have carried over into this year. With half the year still ahead, what do we see in the world of interior design for the rest of 2024? Which trends will we see more of, and which ones should we consider embracing?

Here are four trends that will inspire us for the rest of 2024.

Burl Wood Furniture

This intriguing type of wood, known as burl wood, comes from growths on trees, similar to knots. These growths create a denser and stronger wood that has this beautiful pattern.

Burl wood adds a unique and natural touch to interior design. Keep an eye out for interesting burl wood furniture in second-hand stores, as this is a trend that resurfaces periodically.

The pattern trend continues into 2024, so dare to stand out by mixing patterns and colors. Now is truly the perfect time to explore patterns in your home, and it’s not particularly difficult to embrace.

Start small by adding patterned textiles. Many interior design companies are currently launching a variety of patterns, and as always, vintage stores are brimming with patterned textiles for you to bring home.

Exciting colors, patterns, and details on our ceilings continue to be a trend in 2024. Suddenly, it’s hard to believe that this area of our homes has been mostly white for so long.

Brighten up, tone down, or take the opportunity to paint intriguing patterns. Or why not wallpaper the ceiling?

Dark red tones have started appearing more frequently, and I believe this trend will continue to grow and dominate as we head into autumn. Plum-like reds and deep red shades are making their mark in both decorative details and larger elements like furniture and wall colors.

Dark red is a fantastic color to pair with green and blue tones. Want to know more about what colors that matches each other?
