It was a warm and radiant summer day when I visited Karin’s fantastic apartment in central Gothenburg. From the moment I arrived outside, I could tell that this apartment was something truly special. And I wasn’t disappointed—this home was indeed exceptional and something many of us dream of.
Join me as we step into this magnificent 210-square-meter apartment. Here, beautiful art, designer furniture, and unique details come together, revealing the property’s rich history.
Karin and her small dog truly invite you into a wow-factor experience when you enter the incredible living room. Here, an exciting combination of materials comes together—a fluffy rug, velvet sofas, and elegant armchairs in teddy-like fabric. The natural materials give the room a calm atmosphere, and the color choices are perfect: a warmer tone on the ceiling against the creamy white walls.
When Karin and her family moved in two years ago, they made sure to paint and refinish the floors to immediately stamp their personal touch on the space. They had moved from a large house outside the city, the children had grown up, and they were ready for a lifestyle change. When this 210-square-meter apartment became available, they snapped it up right away.
The beautiful bay window in the living room and its incredible windows let in an unmatched amount of light. It’s a perfect spot to gaze out over the bustling city, the adjacent park, or simply enjoy a book in peace and tranquility.
The entrance hall feels grand, and encountering this view upon stepping through the door is sure to leave anyone speechless. Outerwear is hidden behind a beautiful curtain, and crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling create a magical and elegant light.
The kitchen is incredibly tastefully decorated. Karin and her husband had the remarkable luxury of starting fresh when they moved into this home, as the buyers of their previous house also purchased all their furniture. Given the opportunity to start anew, they wanted to do it right and decided to seek professional help. They went to their favorite store, Artilleriet, and received assistance in creating the entire home.
I adore the large cabinet by the dining area. Karin explains that it came with the apartment, and to blend it in, they painted it in Jotun’s color “Vanilla“, the same as the walls. The walnut dining table and chairs create a beautiful contrast with the warm walls and the natural materials in the chair seats and rug. The ceiling light is the finishing touch, a true statement piece that really captures attention in the room.

The beautiful, grand tiled stove with its dark green gloss truly sets the tone in the spacious bedroom. Despite the high ceiling and the size of the room, it feels warm and cozy.
Textiles and earthy colors create a sense of calm in the space.
Karin and her husband had custom carpenters build beautiful wardrobes in the bedroom, and the result is incredible. It feels as if they have always been there, and the style is perfect.
But it was quite a job, Karin explains. The entire room is slanted with significant height differences on various sides. While it’s not visible today, a keen eye can still appreciate the extent of the work that was done.
