3 Contemporary Country Kitchen Designs: Exploring What Makes Them Irresistible

Spring is here and all we can think of is beautiful, country styled homes. Spring and summer truly awaken the longing for country houses, cottages and simple living where outside and inside combines.

We’ve dived into beautiful kitchens to rime with our dreams, and these 3 kitchens all have that little extra. Let’s go through why we love each and every one of them.

Personality with paintings, plants, and books

Country, English style kitchen with colorful details.
The kitchen of @patriciarodi in her stunning house in Scotland

It’s impossible not to be inspired by Patricia’s amazing kitchen (and entire home!) – she truly knows how to make a home feel personal and beautiful all the way. We want it all!

Deep red cabinets, light marble countertop paired with a classic deep porcelain sink. Beadboard on the walls and open shelves to accommodate the most beautiful items. The key here is: plants, books, and paintings. Things that may not always find their way onto the kitchen counter but here makes the whole feeling.

Combination of materials

British, Scandinavian country kitchen with high ceiling and light blue cabinets.
Beautiful work and design by @simshilditch

Ever since I first saw this kitchen, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the perfect combination of materials and colors it offers. The dark-stained wood in the kitchen, together with glossy marble and stainless steel. And the amazing light blue color of the kitchen cabinets that adds the perfect amount of elegance. I also love the patterned curtains in this design. Patterns are making a strong comeback in the world of interior design, if you’ve been hesitant before – now is the time to try!

Creating warmth with neutrals

Creating a warm feeling in a kitchen with neutral colors may seem impossible, but here is a perfect example of a kitchen where the ambiance feels warm despite only using neutral and light colors. How to succeed with this? The natural materials are key. In this example, the fabric lampshade, wooden stools at the kitchen island, a beautiful stone with marble veining behind the stove is what adds warmth to the room. Even the smalls details like wooden kitchen utensils, bowls, and spice grinders create that grounded, warm feeling in the kitchen. Making us want to move in straight away.

So elegant and beautiful!
